I learnt to Water Ski :)

British summer is finally here and I’ve been on the lookout for activities to do and place’s to visit. Some of my team mates were going water skiing! At first I was a bit hesitant as I had never been water skiing before, but then as I like a bit of adventure, I decided to give this Lake City invented sport a shot. I liked the fact that we were put straight in the water and there were no long lectures or instructions before getting wet. Only thing we were told was to keep our arms straight, knees bent and back straight, not the most comfortable position to be in! If it wasn’t water skiing, I’m sure this position would be quite punishing to the person sitting in it! I started out holding a bar on the side of the boat and fell one time, but then I got it right and it felt great! After about 10 minutes on the bar, I was ready to take on the rope! The rope turned out a little harder to take control of to get up, but once I was up there it was an exhilarating experience. The mix of speed, wind and water is simply amazing! I’m sure this isn’t the last of my water skiing ventures so stay tuned….

Whats been up?

Its been a while since I posted to my blog. I will be updating this more frequently now, even if its only a couple of lines a day. So whats been happening since my last post? Well for starters I was in Seatlle for 3 days! Yes, three days with a 9 and a half hour flight. Didn’t regret a moment of the three days I spent out there though. We had one awesome conference. I finally got to meet the team at Redmond, and I met some great people from around the world working on the same programs as me. I also learnt about whats coming next and the direction we’re headed. This was something that was really cool and I’m excited towards the programs we’re going to be launching in the near future.

Next, I was in Tunis, Tunisia, another fantastic experience. I was there for the Middle East and Africa Academic Days. A conference that saw 200 odd professors, researchers and enthusiasts from across the region get together with talks and discussions ranging from Intellectual Property to the Windows kernel and operating system. I was there to launch Faculty Connection. Its a new community portal for Faculty members from across the globe. Yep, its a program I’m working on and you can ask me all about it!

Another cool incident that took place while in Tunis was when I was standing at the Faculty connection stand and Monaem from AIESEC Tunis, came up and say ‘hi’. He recognized me from AIESEC International Congress 2006 in Poland. I had presented there and hence he recalled me. Thanks to this meeting par-hazard, I spent 3 great days in Tunisia post the conference. AIESEC members from Tunis were kind enough to host me and show me around. Now thats when you see the true value of AIESEC! The weather in Tunis was nice and sunny, thats when the sea looks really good from a hill top and Tunis as a city was a new and refreshing experience.

Now I’m back in Reading for a change! Luckily the weather’s been opening up and its good to see that its still day time when you’re leaving office. I’ve been working on some exciting stuff that I shall share with you some time soon!

Merry Christmas and Welcome to my Blog

Well finally after years of wandering around different blog platforms, having started and shut down numerous blogs, I decided to settle in for my own domain on the Internet. So this adventure will last and this ship aint going down any time soon.

Its christmas time and something new and unique I found was the Santa tracker found on www.noradsanta.org. This is pretty neat, it answers one of the questions that every child wonders about. Is Santa for real?! Well if you believe this website then he’s real for sure. In fact you can see exactly when he leaves the north pole and where he moves along the world. All this using high tec radar equipment. So dont forget to check it out before the time is over and Santa is back preparing for next year! Once again wishing you a Merry Christmas!
